Patricio Laffaye scored with just under 4 minutes left in the game here Wednesday, off an assist by Ray Anderson, to give Central Christian College’s men’s soccer team a 1-0 victory over Dallas Christian College.

The victory keeps the Tigers’ sparkling season going at 6-3.

CCC had a 15-10 advantage in shots and Luis Soto made four saves in goal for the Tigers.

“Today was one of those games where no matter what you do as a coach, the players simply will not play to their level,” CCC coach Aaron Hoxie said. "I don't think anyone deliberately chose to play down, but that's what their actions showed.  Full credit to DCC for their hard work for 90 minutes, especially after coming off of a hard match the night before.  They played very well."

The Tigers have a long break to rest as they don’t play again until Oct. 11 when they are at Manhattan Christian.

BELLEVUE WOMEN 11, CENTRAL 0 — The other part of Wednesday’s doubleheader didn’t go as well, as the depleted Lady Tigers surrendered four first-half goals and then seven more in the second half.

Bellevue, now 9-1 and receiving national votes, peppered the CCC goal for 32 shots to just two for the Lady Tigers, who had only 12 players and were without injured standout Nikki Neal.

CCC is now 1-7-1 and plays Saturday at College of St. Mary.
