HALSTEAD — Canton-Galva competed in the Halstead Invitational Cross Country Meet on Thursday.

Lane Wiens was 47th in the varsity boys race in 20:40. In the JV race, Cash Toews was 18th in 21:08, while Trey Wedel was 60th in 29:58.

Three Eagle girls competed in the JV race. Julia Gormley was 15th in 21:16 for 15th, while other marks were Kaylee Littrell (20th in 22:06) and Krystal May (27th in 23:20).

“I think the cooler temps were a big reason (for the good times), but the kids are seeing that all their hard work is paying off,” C-G coach Lyle Silsby said.

The team runs Thursday at Burrton.
