Viega LLC announced on Friday as part of the National Manufacturing Day festivities which included tours of their McPherson facility, the expansion of that facility in McPherson.

Dave Garlow, President and CEO with Viega, told Mid Kansas Online that the expansion project is slated to start the end of November.

By early 2016, Viega plans to be producing metal fittings in a new 80,000 square foot manufacturing hall located on the same land as its current facility in McPherson. Office space will be included in the new building. Viega hopes to add approximately 100 new jobs for skilled workers in the near future with this expansion, which will serve mainly commercial and industrial clients, in addition to a smaller residential component.

Viega is the global leader in press pipe fitting technology for industrial, commercial and residential projects.

McPherson Mayor Tom Brown told Mid Kansas Online, "Obviously, we're excited when any of our manufacturers makes an expansion. We look at it as the next step in what we hope will be the continuation of a long-term partnership."
