Loose Meaning: AFTER STOPPING, a driver may cautiously enter an intersection while facing a steady red light to make a right turn, —UNLESS there is a pedestrian or a sign to indicate otherwise. Also, the driver must yield the right of way to any vehicle in the intersection. In McPherson, this is a moving violation which draws a $60 fine, plus $75 Municipal Court Cost.

Each Tuesday, as activity permits, we address a topic dealing with traffic enforcement in the City of McPherson. This feature is organized by the Traffic Section of Patrol Bureau. If you have a traffic enforcement question unrelated to the addressed topic feel free to PRIVATE MESSAGE McPherson KS Police Department on Facebook! We may address the question in a future “Traffic Stop”. Be aware, we have several topics already lined up. We appreciate your patience!
