American-Scandinavian Association of the Great Plains to sponsor special Swedish food event October 23

American-Scandinavian Association of the Great Plains is sponsoring a special and unique “Swedish special Food Event” at The Swedish Crown Restaurant, 121 North Main Street, Lindsborg.  (This is open to the public.)  

Please R.S.V.P. your reservations for a Småländska Kroppkakor dinner on Thursday, October 23, at 6:30 p.m.   Phone to Shana Everhart or her staff at 785-227-8422.  The cost is only $12.75 including tax — cash or checks only, please.  (Because of needed extra servers also please leave $1 additional tip per person on the dinner table.)  

Everything else is included in this special and unique Swedish dinner prepared and served at The Swedish Crown Restaurant.    

Please call your reservations directly to the restaurant by Thursday, October 16,  if possible!

The menu will feature Småländska Kroppkakor (literally body cakes from Småland) with butter and cream; lingonberries on the side; green salad on the dinner plate; piece of salt pork or bacon at the side; and for dessert Swedish apple cake with whipped cream; plus of course coffee and tea.

Kroppkakor are potato dumplings stuffed with fried diced pork or bacon and onions, which then are boiled to cook.
