EL DORADO — McPherson High’s cross country runners weren’t worried about the team scores, but individual improvement on Saturday in the El Dorado Invitational.

So with everything considered, MHS coach Gentry Nixon said, “That’s a good day.”

“Because of some serious competition coming out of Wichita, this isn't a meet where we place well as a team, however, we love this course and we love the Saturday morning cool weather,” Nixon said. “The kids ran with a lot of heart, and it showed in the 15 personal records and eight season bests they turned in. Twenty-three of our 26 runners improved upon their top times.”

The Bullpups head to Wellington Thursday for the league meet.
