Freshmen football team improves to 6-0

WINFIELD — McPherson High’s ninth-grade football team remained unbeaten Monday night by strolling to a 46-12 rout of Winfield.

The Bullpups used two quarterbacks and they were both highly effective. Mason Alexander threw a touchdown pass to Jayse Alexander, who also had a touchdown run and a 2-point conversion. Drew Labertew threw a TD strike to Brian Puhalla and also tossed the 2-pointer to Jayse Alexander.

Austen Hunt added a pair of TD runs, while Wyatt Seidl also ran for a score.

Andrew Powell and Joe Martinez chipped in with 2-pointers.

MHS, now 6-0, goes to Abilene on Monday.
