SALINA — Bethany College’s men’s golf team was a model of consistency Monday to win the 36-hole Swede Fall Invitational contested both at the Salina Municipal and Great Life courses.

Bethany totaled 300 for the first 18 and 299 for the second 18 for a 599, eight strokes better than Hastings College.

Bethany’s No. 2 team took third out of 12 teams with a 610.

The Swedes’ Jose Acevedo (73-73-146) was medalist, with teammate Scott Farrall (74-73-147) right behind. Scores were a little higher than normal due to the windy and chilly conditions.

Other Swedes in the Top 20 included Oliver Rubenstein (T-6, 75-77-152), Lewis Blair (T-8, 75-78-153), Josef Loughlin (T-8, 74-79-153), Lex Deal (T-12, 78-76-154), Chence Teyi Chikwari (T-15, 79-76-155), Ben Johnson (T-15, 79-76-155), Greg Miller (T-15, 78-77-155) and Josh Meeks (T-20, 77-80-157).

For Central Christian College, the top finisher was Brady Sherman (84-78-162). The Tigers were 12th as a team.
