REMINGTON — Inman’s Caleb Renner took third place in the Heart of America League Cross Country Championships Thursday, while teammate Tobias Belknap also came away with a medal.
Renner turned in an 18:26.91 clocking and Belknap was 12th in 20:15.25.
“Caleb continues to turn in consistent times,” Inman coach Jay Parsons said. “He knew the top two runners, so it was a matter of how he would run. I think the wisest thing he did was run his race and in the end it paid off with a solid finish. Tobias ran well to finish in the medals.”
Meanwhile, other Teuton finishers were Conner Sivils (37th in 22:29.64), Keaton Case (42nd in 23:37.75) and Max Harman (44th in 24:11.42). Sivils and Harman ran their fastest times of the year.
Placing for the Inman girls were Kaylee Baumann (32nd in 19:59.69), Kristin DeVore (53rd in 23:18.93) and Megan Potter (59th in 26:57.50).
“Breaking 20 minutes (for Baumann) was great for her,” Parsons said. “Kaylee is a freshman, but she has grown a lot this season.”
Parsons said DeVore’s time was a season best and that Potter was consistent.
Inman competes Saturday in regional action at Pleasant.
