Gallery show by K-State professor opens at Mingenback at Bethany October 24

A drawing, painting and print exhibit entitled ‘Transformations’ by Teresa Schmidt will be displayed in Mingenback Gallery October 24 through November 21, 2014.

Schmidt is a Professor of Arts and Coordinator of Drawing at Kansas State University. She received her BA and MA at Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Washington and her MFA at Washington State University in Pullman, Washington. Schmidt's work has been included in numerous solo and invitational exhibits. She has received awards in international, national, regional and state exhibitions, as well as being accepted in national, regional, state & local juried exhibits.

The exhibit is sponsored by the Kahmeyer Visiting Visual Artist Lecture Series at Bethany College. This fund is supported entirely by charitable contributions in honor of Ray Kahmeyer, former professor of art at Bethany.

The exhibition includes a closing reception and gallery talk on November 21, from 1 to 3 p.m. in the gallery. The artist will speak at 1:30 p.m. about her art and the transformations that her artwork has taken over the course of her career.

Mingenback Art Center Gallery, located at the corner of Olsson and Second streets in Lindsborg, is open daily, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Contributions are accepted.
