An accident involving a train just east of McPherson early Sunday morning is reported to have killed a 36 year old man.
According to McPherson County Sheriff's Office's Captain Doug Anderson, Joshua Miller was struck by an eastbound Union Pacific train approximately 1:16 Sunday morning.
The incident was discovered by the engineer of a westbound Union Pacific train approximately 1:54 Sunday morning, which is when officers were dispatched.
Listener reports tell us that First Street/Limestone was blocked off for a time Sunday morning from just east of the roundabout to 17th Avenue.
The crossing involved has both crossing arms and warning lights.
An autopsy on Miller's body will be performed by the Sedgwick County Forensic Science Center in Wichita.
