LINDSBORG — Bethany College’s high-powered softball team has fortified its coaching staff with the addition of former McPherson College head coach Mike McCormick.
"I am fortunate to have two assistant coaches on my staff with head coaching experience," Bethany coach Janice Esses said. "Coach McCormick brings 16 years experience as a head coach at the collegiate level. I have had the opportunity to coach against coach McCormick's teams in the past, and they have always been a tough opponent. I am excited to have the opportunity to coach with him rather than against him. Mike has been a colleague and friend for many years. I am looking forward to working together on the same team."
McCormick 16 years as head softball coach at Mac. McCormick was designated head softball coach in spring of 1999, when the college instituted softball as a formal club sport. In 2000, the school established softball as an official intercollegiate sport.
