Bottom Line: Drivers in McPherson may only make U-turns outside the downtown business district, where it is not prohibited by posted signage, and where it may be done safely without interfering with other traffic. Crossing the center lines to park in diagonal parking for the opposite direction (J-turn) is illegal.

In McPherson, the fine for a U-turn in the business district, elsewhere it is prohibited, or when it is unsafe to do so is punishable by a $60 fine, plus $75 Municipal Court Cost.
