An accident on Highway 56 one mile from Windom sent a Little River man to the hospital Monday afternoon.

According to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol, at 5:41 Monday afternoon a 2005 Kenworth truck towing a 1995 Kent trailer driven by 31 year old James C. Burnham of Wichita was stopped at a stop sign on 1st and Highway 56 just outside Windom.  A 2011 Ford Fusion driven by 54 year old Kevin R. Karraker of Little River was West-bound on U56. The truck failed to yield to the Fusion, turned East-bound on U56 and the Fusion ran into the side of the trailer. Only the trailer was towed by Auto House, and Karraker was taken to McPherson Hospital for treatment.
