It’s an important afternoon for McPherson College’s men’s soccer team.

The Bulldogs can earn their first KCAC championship since 2009 today when they host arch-rival Bethany College at 3 p.m. on the grass field just east of McPherson Stadium.

Mac is 7-0-1 in the KCAC and tied for first with Kansas Wesleyan, which is expected to breeze in its season finale against Saint Mary. The Bulldogs and Coyotes tied 1-1 in their meeting here earlier this season.

Bethany is 5-1-2 in the KCAC and no doubt energized about the prospects of knocking the Bulldogs out of first place.

A women’s game will be played at McPherson Stadium at 5:30. Mac is on the cutline for making the KCAC Postseason Tournament, but will be an underdog going into today’s game.
