Smit scores 17 in Lady Tigers' loss

MOORE, Okla. — NAIA Division I powerhouse Mid-America Christian University overwhelmed Central Christian College’s Lady Tigers 112-66 this afternoon in the opening round of the Hudiberg Classic.

Mid-America blazed to 62 first-half points to build up a 29-point lead. The fast-paced Lady Tigers, who try to get off a shot within about 15 seconds on every possession, never could find the mark, going 20 of 78 from the field, 10 of 48 from 3-point.

Kelly Smit led CCC with 17 points and Libby Regier added 11.

Central, now 1-3, plays host Hillsdale Baptist at 4 p.m. Saturday.
