MOORE, Okla. — A day after he received a three-year contract extension, Central Christian College men’s basketball coach Tony Romero notched his 100th victory just two games into his sixth year.

The Tigers were involved in a wildly entertaining game Friday night against University of Southwest of New Mexico, emerging with a 100-95 victory in the opening game of the Hudiberg Classic.

The Tigers, now 2-0, play host Hillsdale Baptist on Saturday.

Central was down 47-44 at the half, but scorched the nets for 56 points after the break, making 19 of 36 shots.

Dustin Rojas and Michael Gholston contributed 17 and 15 points, respectively, and Ernest Burton was the fifth Tiger in twins with 13.
