Bethany College’s basketball teams were in two different states Friday and the result was a split.

The Swede men evened their record at 1-1 by outscoring Southwestern Christian University, 90-84.

Much of the scoring came from four players, with Cody Harris (19) leading the way. Also in double figures were Gary Jones (15), Devin Smith (14) and Nathan Coleman (12).

The Swedes are playing tonight at Oklahoma Wesleyan.

• York women 109, Bethany 106, 2 OT — The Swedes’ Adriane Davis had an amazing game with 36 points and Royce Shields added 27, but it wasn’t enough to keep the Swedes from dropping to 0-4 on the year. Both also dominated the boards, with Shields coming up with 14 rebounds and Davis 10.

Bethany had numerous chances to win, including at the end of the first overtime when it gave up a game-tying bucket.

Bethany is playing College of St. Mary today in York.
