Entering Roadway from an Alley/Private Drive; (STO #80 & # 60 & KSA 8-1555 & 1529…find exact wording at these links: kansasstatutes.lesterama.org/Chapter_8/Article_15/8-1555.html & kansasstatutes.lesterama.org/Chapter_8/Article_15/8-1529.html)

Bottom Line: This is a SAFETY issue —plain and simple! The reason for this law is to cause a driver to ***LOOK and YIELD*** to pedestrians and cross traffic. In McPherson, failure to do so is a moving violation, punishable by a $30 fine and $75 Municipal Court Cost.

Each Tuesday, as activity permits, we address a topic dealing with traffic enforcement in the City of McPherson. This feature is organized by the Traffic Section of Patrol Bureau. We have finally reached the bottom of the topic list we initially collected when this feature debuted! So, please PRIVATE MESSAGE McPherson KS Police Department your traffic enforcement questions unrelated to the addressed topic. We may address your question in a future “Traffic Stop”.

If any question requires an immediate answer please feel free to phone one of our Officers at our non-emergency number: (620)245-1200.
