KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The chase for that first victory of the season is proving to be quite elusive for the Bethany College women’s basketball team.

The Swedes fell to 0-6 on Tuesday with a 77-41 loss to undefeated Avila.

The 3-0 Eagles were rude hosts, jumping on the Swedes for a 41-18 halftime lead. Bethany finished the game shooting just 23 percent.

Alex Brammer was the only Swede in double figures with 12 points.

Bethany has a good chance at its first win Friday when it hosts Johnson and Wales at 5 p.m.
