Operation Christmas Child will be collecting gift-filled shoe boxes, Monday November 17th through Monday, November 24th. Individuals, families, groups and churches are encouraged to decorate empty shoe boxes and fill them with items such as new toys, school supplies, hygiene items, hard candies and small items of clothing.
Last year, 9.5 million of these boxes were delivered around the world to children in crisis, war and poverty. For most children, these are the only gifts they have ever received and the box represents the hope that someone cares. The boxes also serve as an outreach to the families of the children and begin a chain reaction in which whole communities are impacted with the gospel.
Please include $7.00 for shipping with your shoebox. Or, if you would like to track the journey and final destination of your box or boxes, you can do so by paying your shipping online at samaritanspurse.org and attaching a pre-printed label to your box before you deliver it to the Relay Center.
The Relay Center at 118 South Main in McPherson will be open to receive shoeboxes from Monday, November 17th through Monday, November 24th. The Monday through Friday hours are 5pm-8pm and on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday the 24th, the hours are noon to 4pm.
