Travis Steenson’s spectacular season for the Butler Community College Grizzlies did not go unnoticed by the Jayhawk Conference football coaches.

Steenson, a 2013 McPherson High graduate, has been named as a first-team selection at linebacker.

He was far and away the leading tackler for the Grizzlies, who finished the year 8-3. The sophomore racked up 130 total tackles, 35 of those being solos, for 11.8 tackles per game. He had two sacks, 13 tackles for a loss totaling 49 yards, a fumble recovery, a pass breakup and an interception.
