The case in the death of a McPherson resident last March has been closed.
A release Wednesday morning from the McPherson Police Department said that after a thorough investigation of the March 27 death of 26 year old Ernest Charles Miller that included both forensic testing and over 60 interviews, there is no evidence to support criminal charges.
The family has been notified of the results of the investigation and absent new evidence, the matter is closed.
Miller was found with a bag over his head and a belt around his neck in the 400 block of West Woodside on March 27th. An autopsy conducted at the Regional Forensic Science Center in Wichita on March 28th concluded that the cause of death was suicide by asphyxia and blunt trauma.
