McPherson College’s women’s basketball team makes its final tuneup before the start of KCAC play when it hosts Oklahoma Wesleyan tonight at the Sport Center.

Game time is 6 p.m. Nick Gosnell will be on call on 96.7 KBBE-FM starting at 5:45, with Steve Sell serving as analyst.

It’s been a tough go for the Mac women, who are 1-8 in non-con games so far. However, they had a 12-point lead over once-beaten Haskell here last Saturday before losing 56-51.

The Bulldogs have been getting nice production from Bailey Brown and Sunny Smart. Mac coach Gordon Reimer is looking for other players to step up to complement them.

Oklahoma Wesleyan, whose first-year coach Jason Jeschke is a former Southwestern assistant, will be no bargain for the Bulldogs. The Eagles, who will be joining the KCAC next year, are 8-2, including a 73-70 win over expected KCAC contender Tabor. They did lose to Sterling 87-82 in overtime on Saturday.

Following tonight’s game, the Bulldogs have some time off as they don’t play again until Dec. 4 when they open conference play at Bethany.
