Emporia was no match for McPherson’s seventh-grade girls in basketball action here Tuesday.

The Bullpups swept Emporia in resounding fashion, 37-4 in the A-game and 25-4 in the B-game.

Cassie Cooks and Andrea Sweat scored 15 and 13 points, respectively, in the A-game, which MMS led 12-0 after a quarter.

“It was another great outing for the girls,” MMS coach Jacque Gehrt said. “We did a good job of making the extra pass and finding the open player.”

The B-team pitched a shutout in the second half after leading 16-4 at halftime. Stacey Pham’s nine points topped the Bullpups.

“Improvement of the team was evident tonight,” MMS coach Jennifer Love said. “The girls are becoming very knowledgeable of the game and plays. We were thrilled to protect our home court once more.”

The A-team is 6-0 and the B-team is 5-1. Next action is Dec. 4 at Salina South.
