Lady Tigers lose exhibition game

JOPLIN — Missouri Southern State’s women broke a school record for assists in a game with 33 on Tuesday in a 101-46 exhibition basketball victory over Central Christian College.

The game does not count toward the Lady Tigers’ record since Missouri State is NCAA level.

The Lions led 59-19 at halftime. Twelve Southern players were credited with assists in the game.

Kelly Smit came off the bench to lead CCC with 18 points.

Central, which is 3-7 on the year, hosts Bethel on Saturday. Game time is 3 p.m. at Alexander Arena.
