Central Christian College’s men’s basketball team will attempt to improve its record against KCAC schools to 4-0 here tonight.

The Tigers host Bethel at 7:30 p.m. at Alexander Arena.

This is a return engagement, as the teams met recently in North Newton. The Tigers sprinted to a 37-17 halftime lead, only to fend off a furious Thresher comeback to hang on for a 72-70 victory.

Central is 7-1 on the year, the only loss coming on the road to Hillsdale Baptist. In addition to a win over Bethel, the Tigers own triumphs over KCAC schools McPherson College and Friends.

This kicks off a busy week for the Tigers, who play three games in four days. Following tonight’s game they take off to play an exhibition game Tuesday at NCAA II power Drury, which doesn’t count toward the regular-season record. On Thursday, the Tigers go to Manhattan Christian for another return game, as CCC was an 83-51 winner over the Thunder recently at Alexander Arena. However, Manhattan Christian always plays well at home, so it’s a game the Tigers can’t look past.

The Central women’s team also is in action tonight as it plays an exhibition game at Newman University at Wichita. The 3-8 Lady Tigers then play Thursday at Manhattan Christian, a team they walloped 83-16 10 days ago.
