The McPherson City Commission decided on Monday to defer condemnation proceedings on the property at 835 North Wheeler in McPherson, because the homeowner has worked diligently to improve the situation since they last looked at it. C

ode Enforcement Officer Edye Leslie said at Monday's meeting, "Everything has been done as requested, by the owner. They have maintained the property, secured the property, and they have also hired an exterminator and a maintenance crew to keep an eye on it."

Condemnation proceedings were deferred for six months to be sure that the owner continues the upkeep, and then the Commission will look at whether or not to fully set aside proceedings at that time.
