MOUNDRIDGE — Moundridge High football coach Courtney Moddelmog has announced his resignation.

The Wildcats, decimated by injuries to the point this season that they had to start some freshmen, were 2-7. During his tenure, the Wildcats were 18-40 overall.

“In the world of sports, success is measured by wins and losses by many people, especially looking from the outside,” Moddelmog said. “As a coach at a smaller school, I look at success more on whether a team improves through the year. I feel that we were successful at that each year I was head coach except for maybe this one, which I guess can account for some to want change. I want what is best for the students of Moundridge and will continue to be one of their biggest supporters regardless of my role.”

Moddelmog plans to remain at the school as a teacher and assistant boys basketball coach.
