LEAVENWORTH — There is controversy swirling at KCAC member University of Saint Mary.

According to published reports, highly successful men’s basketball coach Jon Bishop is on paid administrative leave. According to a report in the Nov. 25 edition of The Leavenworth Times, Bishop was escorted off campus by school officials last Monday. Troy Brown is the acting head coach. The Spires have been one of the KCAC’s best teams during Bishop’s tenure and were picked by many to win the conference this year.

David Dominguez, whose men’s and women’s cross country teams recently won the KCAC championship, resigned just before the national meet under somewhat murky circumstances. He also resigned as the school’s track and field coach.

Alstin Benton was elevated to run the cross country program.
