SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Alonzo Stafford’s double-double went for naught Tuesday night as the weary Central Christian College men’s basketball team dropped an 84-60 verdict to NCAA Division II member Drury University.

Stafford scored 17 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for the Tigers. Michael Gholston also scored 17. The Tigers struggled both from 3-point (5 of 21) and the foul line (15 of 24), while committing 22 turnovers that Drury converted into 26 points.

The loss doesn’t count on CCC’s record as this is considered an exhibition game, which means the busy Tigers take a 7-2 record to Manhattan Christian on Thursday.

The Tigers, coming off a buzzer-beating loss just 24 hours earlier to Bethel, stayed relatively competitive in the first half, down just 41-30.

CCC (60) — Nwosuh 2, Gholston 17, Stafford 17, Jackson 6, Burton 5, Clayborn 5, LeBlanc 3, Adams 5.

Drury (84) — Patterson 9, Stark 6, Gamiz 7, Adams 16, Nwelue 17, Bundy 16, Pettigrew 2, Clay 5, Moore 2, Fisher 3, Harmon 1.
