Gymnasts hosted recent meet

The McPherson Gymnastic Club hosted the twelfth annual Fall Fun Invitational gymnastics meet on Saturday November Saturday 10th,2014.  The meet was held at the McPherson Family YMCA.  There were 192 competitors from eight gyms.  There were gyms from Colby, Dodge City, Garden City, Hutchinson, Salina, Wichita and our own local team.  This meet was for levels 1 through Ladies Division.  The girls all participated in both team and individual competition.

The Level 3 team took home fourth place honors.  The Level 5 team took second place.  There were a number of strong individual finished at all levels and age groups.  Starting with Level 3 Age 5-6, with Andi Buschbom placed 1ston Beam with a 9.2, placed 2ndon Floor, 3rdon Vault, 5thon Bars and placed 3rdin the All Around. In Level 3 Age 8, Riggs Kuhn took home 1ston Floor with a 9.65, placed 2ndon Vault, 4thon Bars, 9thon Beam and placed 5thin the All Around.  Haely Hagemann placed 4thon Beam, 7thon Bars, 8thon Vault, 9thon Floor and 7thin the All Around.  Paige Smith placed 4thon Beam and 7thon Floor, 9thon Floor, 10thon Bars and 9thin the All Around.  Macy Rinker took home 9thon Bars, and 10thon Vault, Beam, Floor, and in the All Around.  In Level 3 Age 9, Amber Smith placed 4thon Bars and Beam, 5thon Vault, 7thon Floor and 5thplace in the All Around.  In Level 3 Age 10B, Abbi Unruh placed 1ston Vault with a 9.75 and on Bars with a 9.55, placed 2ndon Beam and Floor, and took home 1stin the All Around.  In Level 3 Age 13 and Up Hannah McGowan took top honors on Vault with a 9.85 and on Bars with a 9.65, placed 2ndon Beam and Vault and 1stplace in the All Around.   Meagan Bontrager placed 3rdon Vault, Bars, Beam, Floor, and in the All Around.

In Level 4 Age 11, Ashlon Stanford placed 3rdon Vault, Bars, and Floor, 10thon Beam, and 4thin the All Around.  Kori Courtney placed 5thon Bars, 6thon Beam, 10thon Vault and Floor, and 9thin the All Around.  Sheridan Bliss placed 4thon Beam, 8thon Vault, 9thon Bars and Floor, and 10thin the All Around.  

In Level 5 All Ages, Lauren Labertew took home 1stplace on Beam with 9.3, placed 2ndon Vault, 3rdon Bars and Floor, and 2ndin the All Around.  Rhian Swanson took home top honors on Bars with a 9.0 and on Floor with a 9.4, placed 3rdon Vault, 5thon Beam, and 3rdin the All Around.  Abby Pierce placed 2ndon Bars, and 4thon Vault, Beam, and Floor, and in the All Around.  Paige Unruh placed 5thon Vault, Bars, Beam, Floor, and in the All Around.

In Level 7 All Ages, Kellsie Corrigan placed 2ndon Vault, 4thon Beam, 6thon Bars, 7thon Floor and 3rdin the All Around.

In Level 8 All Ages, Hannah Wuertz took home top honors on Vault with a 9.0, Bars with a 9.15, Beam with an 8.8, Floor with a 9.3, and 1stin the All Around.  Paige Richert took home 2ndplaced on Vault, Bars, Beam, and Floor and in the All Around.

In Level Excel All Ages, Ariana Potter placed 3rdon Vault and Floor, 4thon Bars and Beam, and 4thin the All Around.

In the Ladies Division All Ages, Ashton Reitz took home top honors on Vault with a 9.45, Bars with a 9.2, Beam with a 7.2, Floor with a 9.35, and 1stin the All Around.  

The girls will start their regular A. A.U. season in January and will compete until May.  There are 23 girls on the competitive team ranging from Level 3 through Ladies Division.  They will attend meets in Great Bend, Hays, Hutchinson, Salina, Wamego, and Wichita.
