LINDSBORG — Bethany College’s volleyball team doesn’t have a new coach yet, but it does have a new player.
Mikayla Reed recently signed a letter of intent to play volleyball at Bethany for the 2015-2016 academic season.
Reed, a 5-4 setter, comes to Bethany from Bennington High School, where she played for four years. She was also on the cheerleading squad for the past two years. Reed was a varsity letterwinner her junior and senior season. She was named honorable mention her senior year. Reed was a two-year Kansas Volleyball Association All-Academic team selection and spent four years with the Mentor Magic club team.
"We are pleased to have Mikayla become a part of the Swedes volleyball family," Bethany interim head coach Melissa Hardman said. "She is a great asset to our team and look forward to having her here in the fall,”
Reed is the daughter of Jeff and Kristi Reed. She has compiled a 3.71 grade point average and plans to study elementary education.
