The Moundridge boys improved to 3-0 on Thursday with a 48-40 triumph over Lyons in the second stage of the Moundridge Classic.
The Wildcats were in control with a 40-30 lead after three quarters and then held off all comeback attempts by the Lions.
Anthony Otte and Kyle Stucky led the Wildcats with 14 and 13 points, respectively. Stucky made 6 of 7 floor shots. Otte had a good floor game with five rebounds and four assists.
MHS plays Hillsboro tonight to wrap things up.
• Lyons girls 43, Moundridge 34 — Lyons, which made the 3A state finals last year, overcame a nice effort by the Wildcats’ Ashley Holler.
Holler rifled in 19 points, 11 of those coming in the fourth quarter.
The difference in the game was the first half as the Wildcats were outscored, 22-9.
Hillsboro is MHS’ opponent tonight.
• Hillsboro boys 50, Inman 36 — The Teutons are now 1-2 as they struggled from the field for the second game in a row.
Lucas Barlow’s 10 points led Inman, which trailed only 21-16 at the half.
Inman takes on Lyons tonight.
• Inman girls 35, Hillsboro 30 — In a bit of a surprise, the Teutons improved to 1-2 as they rallied in the fourth quarter to outscore the Trojans, 16-7.
Naomi Williams’ 10 points led the Teutons.
