The Class 4A Division I boys basketball rankings were shaken up on Monday after some upsets last week.
Top-ranked Eudora, whose star player Mitchell Ballock is out with an injury, was defeated and has been replaced at No. 1 by Miege, with McPherson High right behind.
Rounding out the Top 5 are Andale, Basehor-Linwood and Abilene, which is McPherson’s opponent here tonight.
Hays is No. 6, while Eudora, Hayden, Paola and Ottawa round out the Top 10.
The girls’ Top 10, on the other hand, did not change. McPherson High remains at No. 10, trailing Miege, Paola, Hayden, Ottawa, Wamego, Kansas City Piper, Louisburg, Bonner Springs and Labette County.
The Hesston boys, despite losing on Friday to Emporia to end its 28-game winning streak over two years, remained No. 1 in Class 3A. The Swather girls also remain No. 1 after a 3-0 week.
The Moundridge girls, who lost to second-ranked (3A) Lyons during their own tournament, stayed at No. 4 in Class 2A. They trail Central Plains, Washington County and Olpe.
The St. John boys of coach Clint Kinnamon are ranked No. 1 in Class 2A and play the No. 2 team, Central Plains, tonight.
