DENVER — Bethany College’s men shot a blistering 59 percent Thursday and received 40 points from their bench in a 90-67 rout of Johnson and Wales.
Bethany rattled in 34 of 58 floor shots and went 7 of 17 from 3-point.
Cody Harris topped Bethany with 21 points. Brandon Huskey came off the bench for a career-high 18 points, Gary Jones scored 12 and reserve Jonathan Gidson added 10.
“This was a solid road win for us,” Bethany coach Clair Oleen said. “We were able to spread the minutes out pretty well. I was concerned that we gave up so many offensive rebounds and we must correct that. I have to mention Brandon (Huskey), he just keeps getting better, which is great to see and it gives us a huge lift."
The Swedes, now 9-3, are playing here again today against Northern New Mexico at 3:00. Northern New Mexico was an overtime winner over McPherson College earlier this season.
