Central Christian College’s men’s basketball team returns to action on New Year’s Eve with an afternoon road game at Northeastern State in Tahlequah, Okla.

Game time is 1:30 p.m. at the NSU Event Center.

The Tigers take a 9-2 record into the game, along with a No. 10 National Christian College Athletic Association ranking. However, this game doesn't count toward CCC's record as it's considered an exhibition game.

The Riverhawks are just 2-8, but have played a brutal schedule. They have lost their last two games, 83-78 in overtime to Missouri Western State University and 81-62 to No. 3-ranked University of Central Missouri.

The Tigers will try to keep the Riverhawks’ 1-2 punch of 5-11 guard Michael Harmon and 6-3 guard Demone Harrison in check. Harmon averages 19.2 points a game and Harrison 12.8. Four other Riverhawks average between 7 and 9 points a game.

Four Tigers are averaging in double figures, led by Michael Gholston at 15.5. Others in doubles are Alonzo Stafford (12.8), Dustin Rojas (10.2) and Daniel Nwosuh (10.0). Stafford is the top rebounder at 8.0.

The Tigers then return to Kansas to play Saturday at KCAC quad-leader Friends. Tip time is 4 p.m.
