Central Christian College’s men’s basketball team will try to deal another blow to the KCAC on Saturday.

The Tigers will attempt to repeat an earlier victory over KCAC-quad leader Friends when the teams meet at 4 p.m. at the Garvey Center in Wichita. Central is 3-1 against the KCAC this season.

The teams met Nov. 24 at Alexander Arena, with the Tigers emerging with a 60-53 victory. Central scored the game’s first 13 points before it turned into a grind-it-out affair.

Alonzo Stafford scored 18 points to lead CCC and Dustin Rojas added 13.

The Falcons are 3-1 in the KCAC and tied with three other teams for first. They played much better right before the Christmas break, winning four of five games. They knocked off highly regarded Hastings College in their final 2014 game, which came on the heels of impressive wins over Ottawa and Sterling. They are 5-9 overall.

After the game with Friends, the 9-2 Tigers play two more games before opening MCAC play. They play Jan. 8 at Grace University, then host Hillsdale Baptist on Jan. 10, one of two teams to defeat the Tigers this year.
