FREMONT, Neb. — It’s a busy couple of days for the Bethany College wrestling team.

The Swedes opened 2015 with firecrackers and noisemakers on Friday with a stunning 28-27 upset of No. 8-ranked Midland University.

"I think this is exactly what we needed to get some momentum going heading into national duals,” Bethany head coach Cody Garcia said. "To go in and beat a Top 10 team on the road shows these guys how good of a dual team we can be. In all honesty, it was ugly but we battled and put them away when we got the chance. That's what we want, to just grit matches out and find a way."

The Swedes are right back in tournament action today as Midland is hosting a tournament.
