WICHITA — Friends University’s men apparently have found their stride.

The Falcons, after a wretched start to their season, made it five wins in their last six games on Saturday, avenging an earlier loss to Central Christian College with a 72-59 triumph.

The Tigers, now 9-3, were down only 36-32 at the half, but went dormant in the second half by making just 8 of 28 shots, with 17 of those attempts being 3-pointers.

Alonzo Stafford scored 18 points to lead the Tigers, while Dustin Rojas chipped in with 14.

Toby Baxter fired in 22 points for the Falcons, who were able to keep the game at their favored methodical pace. Cody Scott and Brett Williams scored 15 apiece.

The Tigers will attempt to rebound on Thursday when they play at Grace University.
