An accident in Saline County killed two people Monday morning, one of them a 24 year old from McPherson.
According to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol, the accident occurred on K140 eastbound at mile marker 26.7. For an unknown reason a 2006 Ford Taurus which was originally westbound driven by 20 year old Andrew Loren Wolf of Ellsworth, carrying 24 year old Joshua Bruce Gepner of McPherson crossed the center line into the eastbound lanes, The Taurus and a 2005 Ford F150 driven by 34 year old Joshua Leland Krone of Brookville made contact causing the Taurus to slide backwards toward the eastbound lane and the south ditch. A 2006 Nissan Murano driven by 40 year old Jolene A Goddard of Brookville struck the Taurus in the eastbound lane. All 3 vehicles came to rest in the south ditch.
Wolf and Gepner were both killed in the wreck. Goddard was taken to Salina Regional Medical Center for treatment. Krone and her 7 year old passenger were not hurt.
According to the report, Wolf was wearing a safety restraint. Gepner was not buckled up.
