Elyria JH boys explode for 61 points

PEABODY — Elyria Christian Junior High’s boys overwhelmed Peabody 61-22 on Thursday, scoring 37 points in the first half.

The Eagles unloaded for 20 first-quarter points and didn’t take the foot off the gas in the second quarter, adding 17 more.

Caleb Froese and Aidan Fields were a dynamic duo with 21 and 20 points, respectively. Kobe Neufeldt just missed double figures with nine.

The Eagle B-boys pitched a 30-0 shutout, while the ECJH girls lost 13-10. No scoring from those games was reported.

Elyria is home Monday to play Central Christian.
