McPherson’s eighth-grade A-girls sprinted to a 45-11 rout of Salina Lakewood here on Monday.
Hannah Hageman scored 13 points and Claire Yowell had 12 to lead once-beaten MMS to the lopsided win.
In the B-game, the Bullpups stayed unbeaten with a 43-26 domination. Nine Bullpups scored, led by Meghan Smith with nine points.
“Our ladies played very well in both games,” MMS coach Jay Crawford said. “The things we work on in practice are starting to show in games. Our defense continues to improve. On offense we really shared the ball well. The A-team beat Lakewood in triple-overtime the first time and to win by 34 points just shows how well this group has improved. The B-team beat them twice by two points each and then today by 17 shows they are getting after it as well.”
The Bullpups will take a 10-day break as they are not in action again until Jan. 22 when they host Hays. The final game is Jan. 27 at Great Bend.
