McPherson College’s basketball teams wrap up the first half of KCAC play Wednesday night with their longest conference road trip.
The Bulldogs go to Leavenworth for a doubleheader with University of Saint Mary.
The Mac women, after playing two of the KCAC’s best teams last week in Southwestern and Friends, play somebody more on their level at 6 p.m.
The Spires are just ahead of the Bulldogs in the standings. Saint Mary enters 2-6 in KCAC play, the Bulldogs 1-7.
Mac has lost its last nine to fall to 2-18 overall despite the brilliance of Bailey Brown, who continues to play like a KCAC first-team selection.
The Mac men take a 2-6 KCAC record into their game and are 6-14 overall. Saint Mary is coming off a rousing 79-62 win over Bethany to move into a third-place tie with the Swedes and surging Southwestern. All three teams trail co-leaders Friends and Tabor by a game.
The Bulldogs have a one-point and two-point loss in conference play and in both games had good second-half leads, only to let them get away.
