It was a pair of runaway victories Monday for McPherson’s seventh-grade basketball teams against Abilene — games that recently were added to the schedule.
The A-team is now 8-3 after a 43-13 strafing. Cody Stufflebean led a balanced Bullpup attack with 12 points.
The B-team moved past the .500 mark at 7-6 with a 36-16 blasting. Riley Koehn led a balanced scoring attack with eight points.
“I was very pleased with our effort on the defensive end,” MMS coach Treg Fawl said. “We did a great job of pressuring the ball and forcing turnovers. As a team we still need to work on doubling high ball screens. We did a fairly decent job at it yesterday. We also rebounded the ball well. Cody Stufflebean and Cooper Courntey dominated the glass. Overall I was happy with our team’s effort yesterday.”
MMS plays Thursday at Hays.
