SHAWNEE, Okla. — The pitchers were ahead of the hitters Friday when Central Christian College’s baseball team opened its 2015 season against St. Gregory’s.

Saturday’s single, nine-inning game was postponed because of rain.

CCC lost the opener 5-1, garnering only three hits. Chance Carney drove in Caleb Gorman with the only Tiger run.

Doug Gove took the loss, though he allowed only three earned runs. He walked only two and fanned two.

St. Gregory’s won the second game 3-2, scoring all three runs in the first inning while the Tigers scored both their runs in the last inning.

Gorman had two hits. Keaton Snyder deserved a better fate, giving up just five hits to take the loss.

The Tigers are on the road Feb. 6-7 for four games at Southwestern Assemblies of God.
