GREAT BEND — McPherson’s seventh-grade boys finished their basketball season with a sparkling 12-4 record after winning both of their games Saturday in the Great Bend Jamboree.
The Bullpups won 10 of their last 12 games.
Against Goodland, it was a walkover as MMS exploded for a 70-3 victory. Hayes Schmid scored 13 points and Cody Stufflebean added 12.
There was much more competition in Game 2, as the Bullpups outlasted Colby, 39-26. Stufflebean scored 14, while Kaleb Hoppes was next with eight.
“We had a great finish to our season over the weekend,” MMS coach Treg Fawl said. “Both games we played solid defense with a lot of intensity. We improved greatly throughout the season. I am happy with how the team has grown as a unit. This team is full of a really great group of kids. They all are really close friends and really care about each other. I am honored and humbled I get the chance to coach kids like this. I am looking forward to seeing this group grow as a team with the years to come.”
