Go on a Blind Date with a Book at Public Library in February

Is your reading stuck in a rut?  Having trouble finding books that interest you?  Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the McPherson Public Library staff is ready to set you up on a blind date with a book.

Stop by the front desk anytime during February and ask for a “blind date book”.   After asking you a few questions about your reading interests, one of the library staff will check out to you a book wrapped in brown paper.  You get to unwrap it and decide if you are willing to give this “blind date” a try.  If you immediately know this date is a dud, you are welcome to ask for another pick.  Anyone brave enough to try gets a chocolate candy bar.

This is the third year for the Book Blind Date event and is back by popular demand. “It’s always so much fun to see how delighted someone is when they discover a new author or series they just love”, said Ann Anderson, library assistant.  “We enjoy playing the role of book matchmaker -  introducing readers to new titles and authors they have yet to meet.”

The program runs throughout February.  For questions, contact the library at 245-2570 or email them at [email protected]
