ECJH boys win tourney opener

ELYRIA — Elyria Christian Junior High’s boys more than doubled up Centre on Thursday to advance to the semifinals of the Wheat State League Tournament.

The Eagles romped to a 48-23 victory behind 20 points by Aidan Fields and 13 by Caleb Froese. Fields finished with a double-double as he also hauled down 12 rebounds.

Elyria plays Solomon in the semifinals today, with the championship game set for Saturday.

The Elyria girls’ season ended with a 33-6 loss to top-seed Little River.
