Halinski named top bowling coach in Kansas

The National Federation of Coaches Association has announced that Herb Halinski was its 2014 Kansas Bowling Coach of the Year.

The announcement was made today by the Kansas State High School Activities Association. Criteria includes professionalism, leadership and years of service to Kansas youth.

Halinski led the MHS girls to the state championship this past season and the boys were third in the state. Both teams are considered state contenders again in a few weeks.

Among the other winners was Clint Kinnamon, who was named the Kansas Boys Basketball Coach of the Year after leading St. John to a perfect season and 2A state title.
